Nepali communities and populations are not well versed with the discourse on climate change, and the local government are not mandated to manage climate change activities. Nepal is known for its robust communities’ engagement in sustainable development, thus we are developing clean cooking groups to engage in collective action for climate change initiatives and using clean cooking fuels for carbon financing. Advocating for climate change actions by these community groups (managed by women) with local and provincial governments will help generate awareness on adaptation and mitigation needs for reducing impact of climate change.
